A wide range of activities are organised for a long weekend. They speak of tradition and history, but they also fill the city with light and showcase its most innovative side.

You will find gegants [giants], capgrossos [giant heads], sardana dance groups and diables [devils] in the streets and squares of the city centre. Most of them belong to the Catalan capital's popular-culture groups.

In recent years, Santa Eulàlia has also become synonymous with a grand festival of light. During the Llum BCN festival, some of the city's iconic landmarks are decorated with special illuminations, redesigning the city's nocturnal profile by combining art with new technologies.
