Barcelona International Environmental Film Festival
The event began in 1993, and has been held every year since then.
The Barcelona International Environmental Film Festival (FICMA) has evolved over time as people have become more aware of the need to conserve the planet.
From its origins as a specialised film festival, it has become a hub for generating ideas concerning the environment and of initiatives related to education and awareness-raising.
FICMA has transcended frontiers and created the biggest international network of festivals of this nature: the Environmental Film Festival Network.
Nowadays it is present in a dozen Latin American countries and it continues to establish major international relations, such as its collaboration with the Redford Center, and being the European host for the Goldman Prizes, also known as the Green Nobels.
