International Women's Film Festival
The festival focuses on committed documentary and experimental films made by unknown pioneers, newcomers and established, expert filmmakers.
The festival's events are mostly held in March and April, although its activities continue throughout the year, in collaboration with various centres and institutions.
The festival programme has helped Catalonia to discover cult directors like Agnès Varda and unknown, irreverent and transgressive directors like Alice Guy, Lois Weber and Ulrike Ottinger, among others.
Since 2014, the festival now has an online archive that compiles all the data and documents used for the work, cycles and programmes throughout the festival's history. It offers information about the work of over 600 women directors around the world.
