For seven days, various city venues stage recitals, get-togethers, concerts and conferences in order to discover the best poetry in the country and from around the world .

The festival's objective is to involve as many people as possible, providing incentives for poetic creation and its reception.

The Jocs Florals awards ceremony gets the week underway, and it is rounded off at the Palau de la Música with the Barcelona International Poetry Festival. The very best of world poetry has visited this event: Amiri Baraka, Gamoneda, Giorno, Kwesi Johnson, Parra, Pinkhas Sadé.
