An emblematic path

Next to Barcelona but a long way from the city pollution, Passeig de les Aigües is one of the favourite green spaces of Barcelona residents, for doing sport, walking or just enjoying the hills and the magnificent views. You can reach it by transport and the Vallvidrera funicular, which links the Peu de Funicular station with Vallvidrera, has a specific stop for this path.

Traditionally known as Carretera de les Aigües, it owes its name to the fact it was originally the road used to distribute water from the hills.

Extension

It runs from the Pedralbes neighbourhood, in the district of Les Corts, to the Penitents neighbourhood, in the district of Gràcia, but Passeig de les Aigües is currently being extended, to link it to the stretch that continues on the other side to Torre Baró, in the Nou Barris district. So, in the future, Passeig de les Aigües will be 21 kilometres long, and there will be a new footbridge of 157 metres over Carretera de l’Arrabassada that will cut out the distance between the hills.
