Barcelona, leader in foreign investment strategy in Europe

FDI Intelligence Magazine, published by the Financial Times, has announced their European Cities and Regions of the Future 2016/17 and Barcelona wins another European title. The Catalan capital tops the European ranking of Foreign Investment Strategy –FDI Strategy-, over cities like London and Stockholm. The efforts made by the Barcelona City Council, through Barcelona Activa, with specific policies to attract investment has resulted in this new recognition.

The strong online presence of Barcelona Activa, with a web devoted to attract foreign investment, along with specific newsletters and a useful database, has also contributed to this leadership. Finally, other facts taken into account have been the project of improving the city’s infrastructures in a sustainable way, both with the creation of a new urban area with facilities, residences and a park as well as the development of the Metro Line 9, which, once finished, will be the longest subterranean line in Europe.
